God’s Complete Salvation

The two aspects of God’s complete salvation

The five items of the judicial redemption

Washing away of sins

Key verse: Hebrews 1:3
“Who being the effulgence of His glory and the impress of His substance and upholding and bearing all things by the word of His power, having made purification of sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;”

In God’s complete salvation, God not only removes our record of sin before Him according to the righteousness of His law, but He also washes away our sins. If God had provided only the forgiveness of sins without the washing away of sins, although they might have been forgiven, their stain, the reproachful reminder of our sins would still remain. Forgiveness is simply a legal procedure, whereas washing is an actual clearance. Concerning God’s righteous law, our sins need to be forgiven. But concerning the traces of sins in us, they need to be washed away.
